We can be supported by the best collaborators in terms of know-how, but if the characters and personalities do not match, everything will become more complicated.
It took me a little time to understand this, but this observation can be made in any situation in business or even in life. When faced with a crisis or to meet a major challenge, knowing how to surround yourself is the key. I never really took any management courses. I developed several projects in sport such as swimming, BMX or the Dakar, and the experience I gained each time allowed me to know how to be supported by people who will help me succeed in my project.

Taking a step back, I understood to what extent each manager had their own way of recruiting. It took me time and many experiments to better visualize what I needed and who I wanted to work with. 

Knowing yourself, an incredible strength for the rest 

The second criterion that I take into account is knowing the person before, through other experiences. This leads to clearer communication, without a reputation made on the job. I don't think having the most knowledgeable people in the world in their field would have helped me, because we would have blamed the other party if something went wrong. By knowing each other, we knew what the other was capable of. 

Finally, I wanted those who were going to accompany me to be close geographically. I wanted to be able to test them in difficult situations to identify leaders who would support me in my management. Thanks to that, everything was easier!
