The victory of a team in the shadow of individual sport

An individual sport is not really individual after all. It's always a question of team...

But this team around is always a little in the shadows. The athlete is the only one who is always put forward.
Particularly in swimming, even if it is an individual sport, I have always had a team around me with a mental trainer, a physical trainer, a swimming coach, a physiotherapist, a training partner… All these people- there were an integral part of our victory project and had to coordinate training and preparations between them so that everything could work. Swimming is played in hundredths of microseconds… so every contribution is important.

All workouts are built by all coaches. For example, the physiotherapist alerts the coaches if the athlete begins to have muscle problems. If the physical trainer loads a lot in the dry, he will warn the swimming coach to perhaps anticipate less satisfactory work to come in the water, etc.
For my pool training, I had a sparing partner, who was very important to me because he was my reference point. He was pulling me, opening the way in the water with the aerodynamics. It allowed me to stay motivated and appreciate these moments of work a little more. When there are two of us, we must not let go of each other, it is an important factor which gives us even more of a desire to fight in each training session to improve. He participated in my training, but during my competitions, he was obviously not there. So was he recognized for my successes? No, because the athlete is the only one we see shine on the stage, and yet the whole team had contributed to these results, they deserved these medals just as much as I did.
On the podium, we highlight the athlete and his medal... Even though it is a common victory, a team victory. The teammate trains as much as the athlete, the trainers work hard and enable him to perform.

Arriving in this sport with our Paralympic Games project, I understood more than ever that the notion of team was essential to perform and reach the summits.

Without them, all this would not have been possible. If I got there, it was good with this team.
