We have all, to varying degrees, experienced a traumatic experience during our childhood. However, some people recover better than others. They knew how to accept this injury and use it to grow. They showed resilience.

STEP 1: UNDERSTAND RESILIENCE

In 2010, while I was a high-level athlete, I suffered a serious accident which brought my career to a screeching halt. Faced with disability, 2 choices were offered to me: feel sorry for myself, or show resilience. Today, I am a lecturer, I have returned to sport at a high level, in short, I am happy.

How did I go about it?

I have accepted the situation. I opened myself up to the unexpected. There is no point in fighting a problem that you cannot solve. We suffer not because a crisis has changed us, but because we think we have changed. Realizing this means regaining confidence, rebuilding your self-esteem. It is create hope.

STEP 2: REINTERPRET NEGATIVISM

“I don’t have enough time/money”, “I’m afraid of…”, “I’m too…”. These limiting beliefs have probably already prevented you from achieving your goals. To get rid of it, it is essential toanalyze your past. Who instilled them in me? What experience do they come from?

Once you have found the origin of these emotions, you need reinterpret this memory positively. Ask yourself how it helped you become who you are today. Try to make it coexist with your values. In this way, you rewire your brain. What once limited you is now a strength.

STEP 3: TAKE ACTION

“I am often asked how I found the resources to bounce back. In truth, I had no choice. We are in a similar situation today. »

In view of the previous lessons, you should no longer see confinement as a failure, but rather as a real opportunity. We have all experienced, we have all discovered ourselves new skills. Use this to bounce back and enter the world after.

Some advice though: have a precise plan in mind, it is always easier to walk when you know your direction; fix yourself a deadline, it will prevent you from procrastinating; and to finish, believe in yourself.

If you would like further advice, feel free to watch my conference on the subject, where I address the points raised in more detail.

I also participated in a TED Talk, where I talked about the power of the mind over your life:

So. You have all the keys and resources necessary to succeed. Thanks to your optimism and your motivation, you will be able to overcome this crisis in the best possible way.

Good luck !
