The "general public" version of the European Week for the Employment of People with Disabilities, Disability Day invites you once a year to discover the daily lives of these people who are too often victims of prejudice. For companies, it represents a golden opportunity to highlight some of their employees.

RAISING KNOWLEDGE ABOUT DISABILITY
Even today, many people think that having a disability necessarily means moving around in a wheelchair. Sometimes unknown to the general public, some illnesses or disorders do not represent a real disability in everyone's eyes.
Launched in 1992 at the initiative of the United Nations, International Disability Day highlights each year those people suffering from disabilities in all their forms: visible, invisible, physical, mental... Its strength is knowing how to demonstrate positivity even though she is tackling a difficult subject.
Through personalities, the discovery of disabled sport or even educational events, this day allows some to get answers to the questions they ask themselves, to others to finally benefit from the interest they deserve, and to everyone to get rid of their preconceived ideas. We promise, no disability is contagious!
AND ON THE BUSINESS SIDE?
"Before my accident, I didn't know this day existed. When my life changed, I couldn't not get involved in this cause."
Now it is important for me to share my experience and the fact that, from one second to the next, we can all go from an able-bodied life to a life in a wheelchair. When speaking to the media or within companies, I want to to put in the spotlight disabled people during this day
Companies, precisely, only have benefits to set up a system for this occasion. By showing their interest in their disabled employees, they have a positive impact not only on them, but also on their able-bodied colleagues by changing the vision they may have of their colleagues.
Each of us has a very high chance of suffering a disability before the end of our lives. This day is a the perfect opportunity to educate us, businesses and individuals, on this social issue by proving that disability is not always what we think.
